If a girl is pregnant and bleed the first 2 or 3 months of pregnancy?

is it normal because it happend but it wasnt like a period because her period would last from 5 to 6 days and when she bled she only lasted 3 days or less..shes had positive pregnancy test and feels all the symptoms and her stomach look bloated..could it be just breakthrough bleeding that was happening?
