How would you explain Jesus saying in Mt. 5:20?

To be correctly righteous is to walk with Jesus Christ and to be sanctified. What the verse is talking about here is how religion is dangerous also known as Christian legalism. These might address the Catholics for the case of good works vs. faith. Religion will say you have to do something the right way, but Jesus says faith in Him makes you worthy in His sight.
