Flying delta in July?

I am going to fly to Minneapolis on July 2. I'm flying delta and I was wondering if I could get a better seat because I am 6'9" and the extra legroom would be great. And I don't have $1,000 to pay for first cl, so my question is there anyway I could possibly get bumped up to first? or a seat with better legroom?
