I want to know your opinion about surrealists and subconscious?

I want to what you think of three question I want to know what can we learn from the artwork of the surrealists? what can we learn from our own subconscious and our own dream world? why must we, as artists- as humans- know about the disorganized, illogical, drean like subconscious?
